Charity begins on the golf course at the Shell Houston Open. You can make SARQuest a big winner by participating in the Birdies for Charity program. That's because participating charities receive every single penny of the program's donations collected. It is expected that between 1500-1800 birdies will be made by the PGA TOUR Pros Wednesday through Sunday during the tournament. That number could change due to inclement weather.

How You Can Be a Winner:

  • Simply pledge one (1) cent or more per birdie
Do this and...
  • Have a chance to win the Grand Prize of a 2008 Buick Enclave courtesy of General Motors/Buick Motor Division that will be awarded to the person who comes closest to guessing the exact number of birdies. Ties broken by key drawing.
and
  • Be eligible for a random drawing for more than 100 great prizes including:

    • - Continental Airlines Roundtrip Tickets
    - Golf Equipment, Merchandise, Rounds of Golf, etc.
If 1500 birdies are made, your total pledge would be:
.01 = $15
.02 = $30
.03 = $45
.04 = $60
.05 = $75
.10 = $150
Contest Rules:
  • Entries must be received by April 1 to be eligible for the Guess the Birdies contest.
  • Only 1 grand prize awarded.
  • Ties and other prizes determined by random drawing.
  • Judges' decision final.
  • All guesses must be on an official pledge form.
  • It is the designated charity's responsibility to collect and return pledge forms to Houston Golf Association
  • If one or more days of the Shell Houston Open are cancelled, the birdie count substituted for those days will be: Wed. - 200, Thurs. - 500, Fri. - 500, Sat. - 300 and Sun. - 300
