Interested in joining SARQuest?

If you are interested in joining SARQuest there are a few ways to begin the process. You should begin by attending a meeting or training event. These items are located on our calendar. Our training and meeting notices are also sent out in an email through our mailing lists. Visit the contact us page for more information. Our notices usually include an RSVP Survey, please respond to let us know you may be coming out. Attend a few meetings and trainings to see if you are truly interested in becoming a member of SARQuest and can meet the team commitments.

What is involved in full membership to SARQuest?

Full membership to SARQuest requires member candidates to participate in 75% of all training and events. This includes candidates attending canine training without a canine. SARQuest expects members to work with the canine teams during all training sessions, with or without their own personal canine. Full membership involves a 6 month probation period, where SARQuest can determine your commitment to the team and SARQuest evaluates each candidate for a fit on the full team. At the end of the probation period, SARQuest will hold a board meeting to discuss full membership. The board will notify the candidate of whether or not the candidate will be accepted to the team.

What are the requirements for Mission Ready status?

Membership to the SARQuest does not mean the member is classified as "Mission Ready". Mission Readiness status will be earned when the team member completes the minimum requirements, which are high level outlined on the team training page. This list is not a full mission ready requirements, but these are the initial basics that must be met before the SARQuest board will approve any mission readiness.
